We have an exciting new program for the 12-13 year old preteens, who are too old to be Sparkles, but too young to be a "Teen" contestant.
It's called the Teen Ambassador Program!

If your preteen is interested in finding out what it's like to be  a Miss Yakima County Teen, or even a Miss Washington Teen, this is the perfect way to gain some knowledge and experience, under the mentorship of some of our current titleholders and incoming contestants.

They will spend these weeks honing in on their talents with guidance from our choreographer, picking their Community Service platforms, learning interview techniques, engaging in mock interviews, meeting the current Teen and Miss contestants, current and former titleholders, PLUS assisting our Sparkles Choreographer with rehearsals, all while being a valued member of the Sparkles dance production number and expanding leadership skills.

The Teen Ambassadors will receive custom official Miss America Teen Ambassador sashes (but no crown), and will perform on stage, along with the official competing contestants on competition night in the categories of:

  • opening production number

  • teen fitness routine

  • evening gown

  • and on stage question,

  • as well as be introduced in the Sparkles crowing ceremony.

They will NOT be judged in any of their events as this is only an opportunity for them to be on stage and gain experience, along with and from those who are competing. Whether they plan to pursue competition in the future or not, the experience and stage presence gives them great confidence and life long skills as well as forging great memories and friendships.

Use the registration paperwork below to sign up!
